Convention City Calendar: August 2026

Four Thursday night markets on a car-free 9th Avenue, and five conventions on the Seattle Convention Center campus. Dates, times, sizes, and what each one is — no commentary, just the month.

Market at the Marquee

Ninth Avenue between Pike and Pine is closed to cars from July 28 through September 8. The night markets run on four Thursdays, 5 to 8 p.m., in partnership with Seattle Theatre Group — local makers, food, music, art. Free and open to everyone.

  • Thursday, August 6 — 5 to 8 p.m.
  • Thursday, August 13 — 5 to 8 p.m.
  • Thursday, August 20 — 5 to 8 p.m.
  • Thursday, August 27 — 5 to 8 p.m.

The Center says there are "additional activations" on the block through the week beyond the Thursday markets; it publishes updates on X at @SeaConvCenter and on Eventbrite. Questions go to info@seattlecc.com or 206.694.5000. Buildings with alley access between 8th and 9th keep it.

On the convention center campus

The campus is two buildings: Arch, at 800 Pike, across Pike from the market block, and Summit, at 900 Pine, about three blocks up the hill. Attendance figures are the Center's own listed numbers.

Publicly listed events only. Private galas, buyouts and closed bookings don't appear on the Center's public calendar, so the campus can be busier than this page shows.

GopherCon 2026 (through Aug 6) — the annual conference for the Go programming language, running in Seattle this year. Registration required.

BMM Convention 2026 (Aug 6–9) — Bruhan Maharashtra Mandal, the Marathi diaspora's national cultural convention, held in a different North American city each cycle. Registration required.

PlantCon 2026 (Aug 15–16) — a houseplant and rare-plant consumer show making its Pacific Northwest debut, with a 200-booth plant market, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days. Open to the public, tickets required.

SISO Leadership Conference (Aug 17–20) — the Society of Independent Show Organizers, the trade body for the events industry. A CEO-and-executive conference; registration is by invitation and code.

TechCon 365 | DATACON | PWRCON (Aug 24–28) — three Microsoft conferences under one roof, covering Microsoft 365, data and the Power Platform: two optional workshop days on the 24th and 25th, then three conference days from the 26th, with more than 180 sessions, 30 workshops and a sponsor expo. Registration required.

Nothing is listed on the campus calendar for August 29 through 31. The next event is PAX West, September 4 through 7, across both buildings, with 24,200 expected — the largest of the year so far.

One that already ran: the Flock Fiber Festival, a fiber-arts and yarn consumer show, was at Summit on August 1 and 2.

If you work on the block

Three of the four Thursday markets fall on nights when the campus itself is quiet. August 6 is the busiest, with BMM opening at Arch and GopherCon finishing at Summit. August 13 has nothing booked at all. August 20 has a 250-person executive conference. August 27 has a 1,100-person conference at Summit.
